This morning was our final breakfast with Eva and her family. We shared our usual spread in the apartment, talking about the next time we’ll see each other, possibly Christmas 2026! After packing our bags strategically (two already filled with gifts and fabric), we dropped them off at Denis’s house before setting off on the next leg of our trip. I’m so thankful to have his help, it made things much easier.
One of my favourite moments of the day was a classic “dad” moment, he got into the wrong side of the car and couldn’t figure out where the steering wheel was. Gave me such a laugh! We took one last wander through Tallinn’s Old Town, helped Eva pick out a Christmas ornament, and saw some of mum’s choir friends who were curious about where we bought material. It warmed my heart to hear them talk about Estonian Designs AU with such excitement.
After lunch at Lido (I had buckwheat for the first time in ages, delicious!), we said our goodbyes. Vincent was bursting with joy waiting for the bus and even showed the AI robot at lunch his Christmas ornament.
From there, mum, dad and I drove out of Tallinn (trams and no traffic lights, mildly terrifying) and made a stop in a town on the way, for some secret Estonian Designs AU business. We continued on to Haapsalu, navigating four flights of stairs at our accommodation (mum was not impressed) before exploring the town. Dinner was at a quirky, familiar restaurant with a possible mafia sighting from years past, still great pizza! We ended the day with a supermarket trip and a bizarre drive home through alleys and carparks. Classic Haapsalu silliness to finish off a full and lovely day.
