Kadrina - Reconnecting to our roots
Share
Kadrina holds a very special place in my heart. My grandmother, Ella Pikkat, was born there. I still remember the first time I visited the house where she grew up, alongside some of my cousins. The family who still live there were so excited to show us around, and I’ll never forget the joy of walking through that home. What stands out most in my memory are the gardens, so beautiful they felt almost like a fairy garden. Truly stunning.
Another cherished memory is from when my sister and I swam in one of Kadrina’s many lakes for the very first time. We were just 11 years old, and it was also our very first experience swimming in an Estonian lake, something we didn’t realize was such an essential part of summer culture in Eesti. I remember how deep it felt, how icy cold it was at the bottom, and the strangest part of all, the thick mud beneath our feet. My sister and I even turned it into a competition, seeing who could bring up the most mud in our hands each time we dove down. I think she may have won that one!
Kadrina itself is so beautiful, and it was honestly difficult to choose just one design to represent it. There are many Kadrina designs, each carrying their own meanings, but we chose the one we found most vibrant, and we are completely obsessed! As a tester, I made a 12oz tumbler with the design, and it turned out just adorable. Every time I look at it, I feel instantly connected to Eesti. It’s a reminder that sometimes it’s the simplest things—like looking at my morning coffee, that bring me back to my roots.
We hope this collection gives you the same sense of connection and joy. We can’t wait to hear what you think of our new range!
